WHAT'S NEW? A new article is online: The Progressive Party and the 1912 Presidential Election. Kevin Bloomfield looks at the fascinating 1912 election, an all-star event that featured a former president running in a third party, a sitting president who would come in third place, and a future president who would make the most of the situation. Bloomfield hypothesizes on what the electoral landscape might look like today if the Progressives could have healed the split in the Republican party and won the election.

Also, as the swearing-in ceremonies occurred I received several questions from readers. Check out the answers on the FAQ page.

2008 ELECTION BLOG AND BEYOND: Thanks to all those who visited the site and asked questions as we watched election night unfold this year. If you missed out can still read the special live blog we did. Things always slow down here after an election, but the site does go on so I hope you'll continue to visit. I'll be bringing back our regular blog, The Unpledged Elector, sometime in 2009. First though, I'll be updating the site graphics to all match the new style you see on the newer election pages.

HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT CURRENT, PAST, OR FUTURE ELECTIONS? As always I am here to answer any questions you have about presidential elections and the Electoral College so feel free to email those (but check the FAQ page first as I usually will not answer emails that ask questions that are aready listed there).
